Tailing the Komets: Prayers for Rob Murray
The Komets are scheduled to play Tulsa at 5 p.m. Sunday, but the Oilers were in Quad City on Friday night. The game was postponed because of a medical emergency concerning Tulsa coach and former Komets player Rob Murray. According to a Tweet from Oilers broadcaster John Peterson, Murray was alert and communicating in the ambulance on the way to the hospital. Tulsa led 2-1 with 12:08 remaining in the second period.
As a rookie with the Komets in 1987-88, Murray scored 12 goals and 33 points in 80 games. As a coach, Murray, 50, has worked in the AHL or the ECHL the last 10 seasons, winning a playoff title with Alaska in 2014.
