Tailing the Komets: Roster moves before Friday’s game

Garrett Bartus

After Wednesday’s 8-3 loss to Kalamazoo, it was expected that the Komets would make a few lineup changes before tonight’s game in Indy.

The Komets have activated Garrett Bartus, Ryan Lowney and Artur Tyanulin and have placed Taylor Crunk on injured reserve and Sean Maguire and Justin MacDonald on reserve. They also still have Justin Hodgman and Zac Larraza on injured reserve. Lowney missed Wednesday’s game after blocking a shot on New Year’s Eve, and Tyanulin was just sent down from Tuscon of the AHL.

Indy has re-signed and activated forward Josh Shalla who has killed the Komets over the years with 20 goals and 30 points over 31 games against Fort Wayne. He signed to play in England over the summer but recently came home. The Fuel put him on their protected list over the summer.

Don’t be shocked if Bartus starts in goal tonight as he’s 13-2 all-time as a Komet after his team loses a game.
