After losing 13 of their previous 15 games, the Fort Wayne TinCaps have won three in a row. Fort Wayne beat Lansing 5-4 on Friday at Parkview Field in front of 7,400 fans. It was the fourth time the TinCaps have beaten the Lugnuts this season in as many games.

Fort Wayne, 22-39, took a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning. Brad Zunica doubled to lead off the inning. He scored the first run of the game on a one-out single by Reinaldo Ilarraza. Marcus Greene Jr. followed with his second home run of the season - a two-run blast to left field. It was the first of his three extra-base hits as the 22-year-old catcher also had two doubles.

Lansing came back with two runs in the top of the third. It was the only two runs given up by TinCaps' starter Ronald Bolanos in five innings. Bolanos gave up three hits and struck out nine.

The TinCaps tallied another run in the bottom of the fifth. Zunica's second hit of the game drove in Jack Suwinski who had singled earlier in the inning. Jorge Ona's walk moved Suwinski up to second base.

Austin Smith relieved Bolanos on the mound for Fort Wayne to start the sixth inning. Edward Olivares greeted Smith with his eighth home run of the season to make the score 4-3. It was the only run allowed by Smith in two innings.

A leadoff double by Greene in the bottom of the sixth gave the TinCaps another scoring opportunity. Rod Boykin didn't let that opportunity pass as he delivered a run-scoring single to left field for a 5-3 lead.

The Lugnuts fought back with a run in the top of the eighth against Blake Rogers in his one inning on the mound. Rogers allowed a walk and a single before Lansing scored on Yeltsin Gudino's ground out to trim the deficit to 5-4.

David Bednar pitched the ninth inning for Fort Wayne and got his seventh save of the season. Bednar allowed a one-out walk but got the next two hitters to end the game. Bolanos, 2-1, was credited with the win.

The TinCaps had 10 hits in the game compared to six for Lansing. Zunica and Ilarraza followed Greene's three hits with two hits of their own. Other hits were by Suwinski, Boykin and Nate Easley.
