Fort Wayne rallied for three runs in the ninth

The Fort Wayne TinCaps rallied for three runs in the top of the ninth to beat the Lansing Lugnuts 6-4 on Wednesday. It gave the TinCaps a sweep of the three-game series at Cooley Law School Stadium.

Trailing 4-3, Eguy Rosario led off the ninth for Fort Wayne with a walk and promptly stole second - his 12th of the season. G.K. Young followed with a single to advance Rosario to third. Webster Rivas flied out to shallow right field with neither runner able to advance. Nate Easley pinch ran for Young and stole second to put runners at second and third. Rod Boykin reached on an error to allow Rosario to score and tie the game at 4 with Easley advancing to third. Fernando Tatis Jr's. single drove in Easley to give the TinCaps a 5-4 lead. A double by Reinaldo Ilarraza produced Fort Wayne's final run.

David Bednar pitched a 1-2-3 ninth to earn his fourth save of the season. Blake Rogers, 2-0, got the win in relief. Rogers allowed one run on two hits in three innings while striking out one. Austin Smith started on the mound for the TinCaps allowed three runs in five innings with seven strikeouts.

Fort Wayne outhit Lansing 11-7 with Tatis, Young and Hudson Potts leading the way with two each. Other hits were by Ilarazza, Jorge Ona, Jack Suwinski, Rivas and Boykin. Tatis, Ilarazza and Potts had the only extra-base hits for the TinCaps with each getting a double.
