Tony Miller, guard News-Sentinel names area’s all-time college basketball team

After scoring more than 1,500 points at Garrett, Miller led the Florida Gators in scoring for three straight seasons, leading the Southeastern Conference in scoring at 26.7 points per game as a senior. He still holds the school record for most points in a game with 54 against Chicago State and career points with 1,382. A two-time all-SEC pick, he was also an alternate on the 1972 United States Olympic Basketball Team. Inducted into the University of Florida Sports Hall of Fame in 1988, Miller never played professionally, becoming an orthopedic surgeon instead. He was inducted into the “Legends of SEC Basketball” in 1999.
