North Side guards fend off DeKalb’s upset bid
<center>Class 4A at Carroll </center><br>
North Side 56, DeKalb 49: The Legends’ big scorers didn’t get going, but North Side held off a late DeKalb rally. Davontae Kinnie and Brandan Johnson each scored 15 points to lead the Legends, while Keion Brooks Jr. had 10. Juan Quarles added eight points, and Jaylen Butz was held to just six points and the team had just 16 total rebounds. DeKalb was led by 16 points and four rebounds from Logan Kruse, while Isaac Brown added 15 points, hitting four three-pointers. Dalton Smith added 10 points.
Carroll 75, East Noble 64: The Knights seemed in control in the second half before host Carroll used a 25-11 fourth quarter to pull away. Jacob Redding had a game-high 27 points for the Chargers. Arius Jones and Anthony Martin each scored 12, including a thunderous late jam from Martin. Jones also had team highs in rebounds (7), steals (3) and assists (3). East Noble went 14-of-28 from three-point range, including eight makes in the third. Drew Devers led four Knights in double figures with 17 points. Brandon Nichols and Hayden Jones each scored 15, and Ali Ali had 13 points and seven assists. <br>
<center> Class 4A at Wayne </center><br>
Homestead 84, South Side 67: Jack Ferguson scored 32 points, and Brandon Durnell added 26 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Spartans. Sam Buck added 12 points for Homestead and Parker Manges had eight points and nine rebounds. Mikale Stevenson scored 30 points with six assists and four steals to lead the way for South Side, who also got 15 points from Cortney Shorter and eight from Trejean Didier.
Muncie Central 40, Jay County 36: Jason Schlosser led the Patriots with 11 points, but Jay Houck was limited with four fouls at halftime. Houck ended with eight points, and Cole Stigleman added seven points. <br>
<center> Class 3A at Bellmont </center><br>
Columbia City 56, Bellmont 29: Freshman Mitchell Wilson scored 21 points, hitting five three-pointers, to lead the Eagles. Parker Hazen scored 16 points and Jordan Bechtold added four as Columbia City advanced. Brady Manis and Arron Lehrman each had six points for Bellmont.
Mississinewa 26, Heritage 00: The Patriots saw their season come to an end after a fourth-quarter rally. Abe Beard led Heritage with seven points and Rylie Schane and Cameron Mitchell each scored six points, with all nine fourth-quarter points for Heritage coming from the pair. <br>
<center> Class 3A at Garrett </center><br>
Bishop Dwenger 66, Leo 30: Campbell Donovan’s 13 points propelled the Saints to the win. Nick Passino also scored 12 points and Conlan Martin scored 11. Jeremy Davison led Leo with 10 points and Lane Reed and Eli Steiner each added eight in the loss.
Angola 56, Concordia Lutheran 28: The Hornets outscored the Cadets 17-6 in the second quarter to take a 27-9 halftime lead and were never threatened. Braxton Meek scored 19 points, and Braydon Hart added 11 for the winners. <br>
<center> Class 2A at Woodlan </center><br>
Churubusco 72, South Adams 51: The Eagles avenged a 65-59 loss from Feb. 15 with their fourth straight win. Jalen Paul had 26 points and 12 assists, and fellow senior Cody Barkley added 25 points and seven rebounds. Luke Foote had seven points and Dean Stanley had 11 rebounds. <br>
<center> Class 1A at Bethany Christian </center><br>
Blackhawk Christian 83, Elkhart Christian 66: Frank Davidson led the Braves with 21 points, and Jalan Mull added 13 points and 12 assists to lead the way. Kyle Zurbuch had 14 points and nine rebounds as well for the Braves.
Lakewood Park 59, Bethany Christian 51: The Panthers fell behind early and trailed most of the game before a fourth- quarter comeback. Carter Gonzales and Logan Traylor each scored 12 points to lead the Panthers. Lakewood Park was playing without leading scorer Keegan Fetters, who sat out after being ejected from the regular season finale against Adams Central.
