Tourism Ohio guides
Tourism Ohio has released two publications for visitors, the 2013 Ohio Travel Guide and 2013 Spring/Summer Ohio Calendar of Events. The guides are available at www.discoverohio.com or by calling 1-800-282-5393.
The 2013 Ohio Travel Guide is a 164-page showcase of Ohio’s travel destinations and details about Ohio’s historical anniversaries. The guide also includes a Sports Ohio section highlighting national and international sporting events in Ohio, sections about each of Ohio’s five travel regions, information about new attractions and events in 2013 and more than 3,000 listings for attractions, restaurants and accommodations.
The 2013 Spring/Summer Ohio Calendar of Events is a 68-page listing of about 800 events, festivals, shows and concerts. Events are color-coded by geographic area and listed in chronological order.
<br> <center>Dinosaur exhibit</center> <br>
The Brookfield Zoo will host the temporary exhibit “Dinosaurs Alive!” beginning April 6. The exhibit features 24 life-size animatronic dinosaurs, including favorites like stegosaurus and triceratops. Guests can learn about the most recent paleontological findings as well as prehistoric flowers and plants and will have the chance to view real fossils.
Dinosaurs Alive! Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children and seniors in addition to regular zoo general admission of $15 for adults and $10.50 for children and seniors. Children 2 and under are free.
The exhibit is open through Oct. 27. The zoo is located at First Avenue and 31st Street, Brookfield, Ill.
<br> <center>Festival needs films</center> <br>
Huntington University announced it needs submissions for its second annual Fandana Film Festival on Aug. 2-3.
Filmmakers can submit works in the categories of narrative, documentary and animation. High school students may submit entries in a special category just for them.
Awards include a “Best of Category” with prizes of $300 each and a “Best of Fest” prize of $500. Winners also will have their films shown on the main stage jumbotron in front of thousands during the Fandana Festival weekend.
Visit www.fandanafestival.com/films to find the link to submit films. The deadline for submissions is June 1. The submission fee is $25, with a late registration fee of $35 through July 1.

<br> <center>Easter meal at Rescue Mission</center> <br>
The Rescue Mission offers its annual Easter meal noon-3 p.m. Sunday at 301 W. Superior St. Dinner includes baked ham, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, sweet potatoes, dinner rolls, and sugar cream pie. The meal is free and open to the public.
