Auditions for Civic Theatre’s ‘Memphis-The Musical’ Sunday
The Fort Wayne Civic Theatre will hold auditions for “Memphis-The Musical” at 6 p.m. Sunday at the Arts United Center, 303 E. Main St. Actors of all ethniticites are encouraged to audition for a large diverse cast including ensemble roles. All must be able to sing, dance and act. Next spring, the Fort Wayne Philharmonic orchestra will play John Williams’ unforgettable score from “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” while the audience views the movie on a 40-foot screen at the Memorial Coliseum, 4000 Parnell Ave. The concert/movie isn’t until April 7, but tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Monday via www.memorialcoliseum.com or by calling 482-9502. The performance is part of the Harry Potter Film Concert Series, a global concert tour celebrating the Harry Potter films. “Under the Streetlamp” is coming to the historic Embassy Theatre for a live, one-night-only performance at 7:30 p.m. May 5. Featuring former leading cast members of hit Broadway musicals including “Jersey Boys,” “Under the Streetlamp” is a concert celebration of classic hits of the American Radio Songbook from the 1950s-1970s. Tickets will be $32.50-$59.50.
