Fort Wayne-area arts organizations to benefit from Indiana Arts Commission grants

The Indiana Arts Commission (IAC) announced today that 425 community-based arts organizations and individual artists from throughout Indiana will receive grants totaling a combined $2.24 million during the commission’s 2019 fiscal year.

The IAC is an agency of Indiana state government and is funded by the Indiana General Assembly and the federal National Endowments for the Arts, the news release said. The IAC promotes the arts “to enrich the quality of individual and community life.”


The following Fort Wayne-area arts organizations received larger, direct grants from the IAC:

• Fort Wayne Philharmonic, $34,632

• Fort Wayne Museum of Art, $34,632

• Embassy Theatre Foundation, $18,476

• Honeywell Foundation in Wabash, $18, 476

• Wagon Wheel Center for the Arts in Warsaw, $17,985

• Fort Wayne Ballet, $18,476

• Arts United of Greater Fort Wayne, $18,476

• Heartland Sings, $12,641

• Unity Performing Arts Foundation, $12,641

• Fort Wayne Cinema Center, $9,724

• Fort Wayne Children’s Choir, $9,724

• Fort Wayne Dance Collective, $12,641

• Fort Wayne Civic Theatre, $15,558

• Audiences Unlimited, $9,724

• Fort Wayne Youtheatre, $7,779

• Creative Arts Council of Wells County, $6,807

• Artlink, $7,779

• Foundation for Art and Music in Elementary Education (FAME), $6,807

• all for One productions, $5,834

A number of Fort Wayne-area organizations and schools received art project grants of $5,000 or less, the Indiana Arts Commission reported.
