Fort Wayne Ballet to present showcase May 23

The Auer Academy of Fort Wayne Ballet will hold its annual end-of-the-year academy showcase on Thursday, May 23, with the Primary Showcase at 6 p.m. and the Secondary Showcase at 8 p.m. at the Arts United Center in downtown Fort Wayne. This performance concludes the Auer Academy’s school year, showcasing the progress developed by the dancers over the past year in many genres of dance.

This performance is a display of ballet, jazz, tap, modern, musical theater and more with pieces highlighting students of all ages. The Primary Showcase will feature some of Fort Wayne Ballet’s youngest dancers, starting at age 3 up through the academy’s beginner levels. The Secondary Showcase will highlight dancers from the academy’s intermediate levels up through the highest level of the school. Choreography for the Academy Showcase includes premieres from Fort Wayne Ballet staff members as well as the restaging of classic ballet repertoire.

Doors will open one hour prior to each performance. Tickets for the performances are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors (ages 65 and over) and $10 for children (ages 17 and under). Tickets can be purchased by calling the ArtsTix Community Box Office at (260) 422-4226 or at www.fortwayneballet.org
