People braved cold temperatures to participate in and cheer on Fort Wayne-area U.S. military veterans during the annual Veterans Day parade on Saturday organized by the Allen County Council of Veterans Organizations.

The parade started at 11 a.m., with units rolling or walking north on Parnell Avenue from North Side Park to Memorial Coliseum, 4000 Parnell Ave.

A variety of individuals and groups walked or rode in the parade, including veterans organizations, politicians, car and motorcycle groups and scouting groups.

A Veterans Day ceremony was scheduled to take place after the parade in the coliseum’s Memorial Hall.

Other Veterans Day ceremonies and events also were scheduled to take place Saturday area various area locations.
