Waterloo man killed in DeKalb County crash
A Waterloo man was killed when his car ran off the road and struck a tree Sunday morning in DeKalb County.
Jason A. Lowman, 29, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, according to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department.
The Ford Focus that Lowman was driving at 5:45 a.m. Sunday went off the south side of County Road 40 at County Road 41 while negotiating a curve, according to Nicholas Lichtsinn of the sheriff’s department. The vehicle continued in the ditch before striking a tree and Lowman was ejected from the vehicle, according to Lichtsinn.
DeKalb County EMS, Auburn Fire and the DeKalb County coroner assisted at the scene.
