2007 - An overflow crowd estimated at around 2,000 cheers as Bluffton University's Jimmy McMonagle slides safely into home plate on Friday during the Beavers' first home game since the team's bus crashed on March 2, killing five Bluffton players. The baseball field normally accommodates a crowd of 100 or less.

2012 - The Martin Luther King Jr. Bridge on Clinton Street north of downtown reopened in February after $7.5 million in renovations. Now a group is asking local officials to rename all of Clinton Street in honor of the slain civil rights leader -- a move that even supporters admit would impose costs and inconvenience on taxpayers, businesses and homeowners alike.
