Teen shot by 14-year-old in Fort Wayne has died

A boy shot Sunday morning by a 14-year-old boy has died and his death ruled a homicide.

Darius Marcel Boone, also 14, died Monday, according to the Allen County Coroner’s Office.

Boone and another boy were struck with the same bullet in a home at around 6:52 a.m. Sunday in the 2700 block of Chestnut Street, according to Fort Wayne Police.

Boone was taken to a local hospital in critical condition, where he died.

The boy accused of shooting the others said it was accidental and he was prelinarily charged as a juvenile with criminal recklessness.
