Woman found critically injured in Oliver Street home

Fort Wayne Police are investigating what happened to a woman found with traumatic injuries inside an Oliver Street home with her unharmed child.

The woman was able to contact a relative who called police at 2:50 a.m. to go to 4821 Oliver St., according to police spokesman Michael Joyner.

Police initially didn’t know what the problem was. Officers found a door to the home open and went inside to check on the well-being of anyone inside. They found the woman suffering from a significant amount of trauma, according to Joyner.

She was taken in serious condition to a local hospital but was later downgraded to critical condition.

Officers found the young child in the home who was not harmed.

Police don’t have any suspect information or motive, according to Joyner.

This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Prosecutor’s office.
