1998 - Conrad Schmitt Studios employee Marvin Forguson paints the frame around a window near the ceiling of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Tuesday, June 2. The stained glass has been removed from this frame and is being cleaned as part of the $3 million repair and renovation of the church.
1998 - Button worn by smoking ban suporter at the City Council meeting on Tuesday, June 2. Anti-smoking activists are still working to sway three council members who are sitting on the fence on the issue of the proposed ordinances.
2000 - Barb Stickley, 74, works out on some exercise equipment at Heritage Park's New Energy Club Friday morning. Stickley is one of the growing number of elderly public that is using the facility for $25 a month.
2003 - Phil Morrow brazes the copper connections on a unit this Monday at the Water Furnace International Production/Lab Facilities. The brazing helps keep the units sealed and secure for work in the field.
2009 - Carole Sorg was nearly knocked over by the kids who ran after her to give her a hug on her last day as a volunteer at the school. She has been a volunteer at St. Joseph Hessen Cassel school for 40 years. She retired at the end of this school year.
2009 - A maintenance worker with Stephanie Villas apartment complex hoses off a pool of blood after a fatal shooting in the 1300 block of Fayette Drive just after midnight Tuesday.

2011 - It's just a vacant field and woods now, but DeShawn And David Moore hope the new Victory Worship Center that could start going up just north of Tillman Road later this summer -- and could eventually become one of the largest in town -- will meet the spiritual and physical needs of people who might otherwise fall through the cracks.
2012 - North Side's Kersten Barnfield crosses the finish line ahead of the pack to put the finishing touch on the Redskins's state championship in the 4x400-meter relay race during the boys track and field state finals on Saturday at Indiana University. Barnfield and teammates Mohammed Bangura, Tyvon Kelley and Ed Benson won the race in a school record time of 3:16.95.
2013 - Homestead junior Kyle Mohsenzadeh starts to stride for a swing against Carroll in the semifinals of the Class 4A baseball regional on Saturday at Loeb Stadium. Matt Owens is the Carroll catcher.
2016 - Construction continues at the Towne House Retirement Community, which has reached its maximum expansion space at 2209 St. Joe Center Road, according to its executive director.
2017 - The Lutheran ER Statehood is at the intersection of Coliseum and State boulevards. The $10 million project will provide 24-hour care to Allen County residents year around.
