1948 - President Harry Truman and the Presidential Special pulled into the Pennsylvania Railroad Station on the afternoon of June 4, 1948. The president was greeted by former U.S. Sen. Samuel D. Jackson, who introduced the president to a small group of guests before Truman addressed a crowd of 3,000 to 4,000 people at the station. In his speech, the president spoke about the need for a European recovery program, a temporary draft for the armed service, and of universal military training.

2001 - Indiana's First Lady, Judy O'Bannon chats with an old friend from Habitat for the Humanity as she waits to address the crowd at the ribbon cutting for the new Habitat For Humanity Building at 629 E Washington Blvd. Monday morning.
2003 - Early in the morning Habitat for Humanity volunteers start laying out the timber for the construction of the new house for Takeysha Jones this past Wednesday. The project is estimated and planned to take 72 hours.
2003 - Rick Bole looks at Jeff Orr who decides to take a break in the middle of work during the construction of the roof this Wednesday. Both workers are with Waterfield mortgage company. They helped construct a new house for Habitat for Humanity. The house was built for Takeysha Jones, who achieved her 300 required hours.
2003 - After the last bus pulled away from Lafayette Center Elementary School Wednesday teachers shared some hugs. From left to right are first grade teacher,Becky Lance, first grade teacher Jennifer Summers, and computer lab teacher Marcia Flora. This was the last day Lafayette Center would have students within its' walls.

2010 - Ashley Szabo and her dancing partner, Jim McCann, practice June 4, at the American Ballroom studio,6041 North Clinton Street. The two will be competing this weekend during the USA Dance Fort Wayne Dancesport Championships & Special Olympics Indiana Championships for Ballroom Dancing at the Grand Wayne Center. This is the third year the two have competed as partners.
2011 - Red panda Xiao holds her 1-day-old cub Tuesday at the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo. The father is 4-year-old Junjie. This is the second litter of cubs born at the zoo since 1997. Two cubs were born to Xiao in 2012, but neither cub survived. Red pandas are an endangered species.
2011 - Snider high jumper Shanelle DeJournett escapes the blazing heat under her umbrella between jumps during Saturday's IHSAA state finals at Indiana University. DeJournett cleared 5-foot-8 to win the state title.
2014 - Huntington North junior Maddi Kennedy scores the first run of the game against Carroll on Tuesday. The Vikings beat the Chargers 4-0 in the Class 4A Girls Softball Regional No. 3 championship game.
2015 - Guests pause to watch the swamp monkeys in their exhibit in the African Journey at the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo.
