1997 - Fort Wayne is replacing its attractions signs around the city. The new signs do away with symbols, opting instead for larger, easy-to-read print.
1999 - The German flag joined with the US as a parade downtown, here on Superior Street, kicked off Germanfest.
2000 - Visitors dig their toes in the sand at Markle Beach, which some visitors say is the closest thing to a beach they can enjoy.

2004 - Traffic plows through water on Clinton Street near the intersection of Elizabeth Street after a storm swept through the area early Monday afternoon causing some flooding.
2006 - Nicole Dupuis feeds Matthew,2 months, as Guy Dupuis tangles with Mitchell,7, and Brooke,9, Thursday evening at their home. Matthew was born with Down Syndrome, Doctors had predicted he would be dead at birth or die shortly afterward.
2009 - Kevin Morse, co-manager of the Wal-Mart Supercenter Store at 1710 Apple Glen Blvd., shows off the niche at the rear of the store that provides public, 24-hour access to public-school and job-hunting Web sites through three computers.
2010 - Mayor Tom Henry addressed a crowd of about 300 people at a community rally to show support for keeping Navistar's Design and Engineering Center in Fort Wayne. Henry was joined by a group of elected officials and community leaders at the rally on the steps of Parkview Field's south entrance.
2011 -Fort Wayne TinCaps centerfielder Mykal Stokes smashes into the padding on the outfield wall after dropping the baseball out of his glove in the second inning of the TinCaps' game against the Dayton Dragons on Thursday at Parkview Field.
2013 - Indiana All-Star Bryson Scott of Northrop High School is introduced prior to the game against Kentucky on Saturday at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
