1993 - Ferida Omeradzic hugs Sanela Arnautalic, a translator, after she arrived at Fort Wayne International Airport.
1997 - Empty trash bins and earth-moving equipment sit next to the former United Landfill, 5800 Smith Road. The property has been sold to Republic, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. The company also owns National Serv-All, Fort Wayne's other landfill on Smith Road.
1999 - Alex Reith, 6, left, and his brother Devin, 5, helped their father Nick pick out fireworks at Celebration Fireworks, 1018 Coliseum Blvd. West. The family was down from Auburn buying fireworks for the Forth of July holiday.
2000 - Seyfert's Potato chip plant in Fort Wayne will close on June 17th. Product will be relocated to Kansas City Missouri. The shut down will affect 90 local production positions, and 20 administrative positions.
2003 -Matthew Jerome, 13 plays a Super Chexx game this Tuesday at Putt Putt. Jerome who is too young to drink must find other venues of entertainment.
2004 - Trays of baklava cool off as volunteers wait for the next batch to come out of the ovens at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church on Friday morning. Baklava and other baked goods are being made in preparation for Greekfest, June 24-26.
2006 - A festival goer enjoys some Griffins BBQ, one of several local vendors at the 9th Annual Rib fest at Headwaters Park.
2006 - Fort Wayne firefighters rescued three people from the balcony of a burning house at 1143 St. Mary's Ave at 5:10 a.m. on Saturday. Two of the people suffered minor burns in the fire, and one firefighter injured his back during during the overhaul of the house after the fire was put out.
2008 - Lisa Laur, Avilla, was the first to drop off her extra breast milk at the Lutheran Children's Hospital Milk Depot for the Indiana Mothers' Milk Bank, Inc. Monday afternoon. The milk will be shipped to Indianapolis for pasteurization and then distributed to the hospitals who need it for premature infants. Her daughter Nora, four-months-old was with her.
2010 - Fort Wayne TinCaps first baseman Nate Freiman will participate in the Home Run Derby during the Midwest League All-Star game festivities on Monday at Parkview Field. Freiman is one of six TinCaps players selected to play in the annual all-star game on Tuesday.
2011 - Donald Mayers and Tom Fryback play doubles at Lions Park. The serving team stands behind the court boundary line to begin the game.
2013 - Charles Shepard, executive director of the Fort Wayne Museum of Art points to the direction the truck was coming from when it barreled down Barr Street, went airborne over the curb and crashed into the sculpture by Mark DiSubero, "Helmhotz."
2015 - A runner at Foster Park is treated to a view of “Lake Foster” on Tuesday morning as she runs up Hartman Road on the walking path. Parts of the Foster Park golf course are underwater. The water was expected to rise further, and the golf course was closed.
2016 - Braton Hart, 20, flips rib slabs Thursday at Headwaters Park for BBQ Ribfest. Hart works with his grandfather, David Hart, founder of Low N Slow.
