The group chanted slogans while cars driving by either honked their support or ignored them.
2017 - After Betty Watson, 83, front right, had a stroke 10 years ago, she moved in with her son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Deb Watson. Deb is at front left. Betty had been the caregiver for her daughter Ann, 41, to the right of Betty, so Ann moved into the Watsons’ New Haven home when Betty did. Ann has Down syndrome and has growing care needs, too. Deb Watson works two nursing jobs and is among a rising percentage of women, as well as men, who daily juggle caregiving and work. Mike’s daughter Alyvia Heiser, far side of table, comes several days a week to help out and brings along her two children, Adalya, 5, next to her, and Bennett, 11 months, who is hidden from view behind Deb Watson.
