Female political candidates focus of Monday ‘civil conversations’ panel

Advancing Voices of Women (AVOW) will host a “Civil Conversations” panel of female candidates for local, state and national office from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Ian Rolland Gallery in the Arts United Center, 303 E. Main St.

At the nonpartisan event, the candidates will discuss their experiences running for office, many for the first time. All local and statewide female candidates have been invited; among those expected to participate are Courtney Tritch, U.S. Congress, 3rd District; State Sen. Liz Brown, 15th District; Kathy Zoucha, Indiana State Senate, 15th District; Marty Lemert, Indiana House of Representatives, 52nd District; Sharon Tucker, Allen County Council; Denita Bell Washington, Adams Township Trustee; Melissa Rinehart, Perry Township Trustee; Bev Zuber, Wayne Township Assessor.

The event is sponsored by the Journal Gazette Foundation.
