New Haven announces Halloween hours, events
The city of New Haven has set its official Trick or Treat hours for Wednesday, Oct. 31, between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Additional police officers and other officials from the Fire Department will be on duty to ensure public safety, and Mayor Terry McDonald is asking all motorists to exercise extra caution during this time and reminds parents to have children visit only those houses with their lights on.
In addition, parents can bring their children downtown to Broadway from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., where business owners will hand out treats to children and fire & EMS vehicles will be on display. A Halloween Carnival will also be held at Schnelker Park from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Children are invited to receive treats and participate in games and other events. This event is sponsored by Impact Community Church and is free to the public
