Fort Wayne’s professional baseball stadium will be “Parkview Field” for at least another five years.

The original 10-year, $3 million naming-rights deal expired after the TinCaps completed play this season, but that agreement gave Parkview Health the option to extend the agreement for another five years at the same $300,000-a-year rate.

Half of Parkview’s annual payments will continue to go to the city’s Redevelopment Commission, which uses the money to maintain and improve the facility. The other half goes to the TinCaps, and the team agrees not to allow advertising by any other area hospital within the stadium or to use the TinCaps name or logo. The 2009 agreement does not include an extension clause beyond the additional five years.

The TinCaps drew more than 370,000 people to Parkview Field this season.
