NeighborLink’s ‘Be A Good Neighbor Week’ event kicks off

NeighborLink’s Be A Good Neighbor Week Event kicks off Monday, July 8 and runs through July 13.

It is an opportunity to give back to the community through a week-long opportunity to simply show up and volunteer for a home exterior project that helps a neighbor in need. To sign up, go to NeighborLink’s website at nlfw.org and click on the calendar. Select Be A Good Neighbor Week and sign up for the project that appeals to you. If you don’t see a project that works for you, contact NeighborLink and they’ll help find one for you.

NeighborLink will celebrate the end of Be A Good Neighbor Week by demonstrating a wheelchair ramp being built for someone in our community during the Open Streets downtown event on Sunday, July 14, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on South Calhoun Street near Neat Neat Neat Records.

“I think we’re all trying to find ways to be a better person and ultimately a better neighbor. We’ve learned over the years that volunteerism is one of the best ways to learn what that means and BAGNW allows us to do that together rather than alone,” Andrew Hoffman, executive director of NeighborLink, said in a statement.

NeighborLink Fort Wayne is a 501(c)3 non-profit Christian ministry that invites Fort Wayne residents and organizations to seek free assistance from their neighbors, and invites Fort Wayne residents to join volunteer project teams to provide free assistance. NeighborLink Fort Wayne volunteers completed 1,3,10 projects in 2018 and 588 to date in 2019.
