Repeat offender gets 58 years for child molesting
James B. Jenkins has been sentenced to a total of 58 years for two counts of child molesting, according to the Allen County Prosecutor’s office.
Jenkins, who was found guilty by a jury last month, was was convicted for molesting a young child between May, 2005, and June, 2007. Jenkins was sentenced in 2016 in three child molest cases involving three additional victims. The victim in Jenkins’ current case reported the crimes in 2018. In many cases, in Indiana law allows charges for child molesting allegations reported by a victim before their 31st birthday.
“We cannot give the victim back her childhood, but at least the defendant will be held responsible,” Deputy Prosecutor Tesa Helge said in a statement.
