Boy, 13, shot after answering door

A 13-year-old boy was shot in the 3800 block of Euclid around 10:43 p.m. Monday. He was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Fort Wayne Police said it appears someone was knocking at the front door of the home and when the juvenile went to answer the door he was shot. There were multiple shots fired, and police have no suspects. The incident follows the Sunday shooting of an 8-year-old boy on Logan Avenue who was lasted listed in stable condition.

In a statement, the Fort Wayne Police said “There is very little information on this incident and we are asking the community to please help us with these last two shootings. We need to continue to work together to put an end to this. Our detectives are working tirelessly on these shootings. Please come forward with any information you may have about these or any other shootings.”

Anyone with information is asked to call the Fort Wayne Police Department at (260) 427-1222 or Crime Stoppers at (260) 436-7867.
