UPDATED: Apparent shooting leaves 19-year-old man dead, arrest made

A man is dead following a shooting Tuesday afternoon, and a woman has been arrested in the crime.

Fort Wayne Police responded to Roseview Road in response to a report of a shooting the caller said had happened on Abbott Street at an unknown address. The 19-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the hospital, and his name and manner of death will be released by the Allen County Coroner after family notification.

Kennisha Jackson, 19, faces a preliminary charge of aggravated battery in the shooting death police say stemmed from an argument over money. On Tuesday a female called police reporting a male was shot and that he was being transported by her to a hospital. She went on to state that the shooting occurred at another location on Abbott Street. The victim met with another person at that location where an argument ensued and then the shooting occurred.

During the transport the victim was met by police and medical personnel at Vance Avenue and Santa Lisa Court. The victim was transported to a local hospital by ambulance where he was pronounced dead.
