Komets are getting a player back

Artur Tyanulin

Komets General Manager David Franke said this afternoon that forward Artie Tyanulin is expected back in Fort Wayne tonight. The rookie has been working to rehabilitate from a concussion in Phoenix and has not played in a game in Fort Wayne since suffering the injury at Adirondack on March 16.

Tyanulin, the Komets Rookie of the Year, scored 18 goals and 42 points in 39 games this year for Fort Wayne. He has one point in eight American Hockey League games this season. He also represented the Komets in this year’s ECHL All-Star Classic.

Franke said Tyanulin will practice with the Komets tomorrow, join the team on the bus to Cincinnati and is expected to play in Thursday’s Game 3.

The Komets need the extra body because they played one under the maximum of 16 during Sunday’s Game 2 in Fort Wayne.
