A pair of girls’ basketball players from northeast Indiana will participate in the 30th annual North/South Indiana All-Star Classic this weekend.

Leigha Brown of DeKalb and Ellen Ross of Bishop Dwenger have been chosen to be on the North squad in Saturday’s game at John R. Wooden Gymnasium at Martinsville High School.

Brown, the 2018 News-Sentinel Girls Basketball Player of the Year, is headed to the University of Nebraska to continue her playing career. Meanwhile, Ross is headed to Butler.

Although there are no local representatives on the boys’ side, there is plenty of elite talent. Future Indiana Hoosier Damezi Anderson (South Bend Riley) will take part in the game, as well as Purdue signee Eric Hunter (Tindley) and Michigan State commit Aaron Henry (Ben Davis).

The girls’ game is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. on Saturday, with the boys game to follow.

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased from Martinsville High School by calling 765-342-5571 ext. 4026.
